It is the day after Election Day. The results are in. Believer, I don’t know how you voted in this election, and I am not trying to solicit that information. I have friends who voted red, and I have friends who voted blue. Your vote was, and is, between you and the Lord. Regardless, these …
Much of my childhood was spent in a smaller town. I was born in San Antonio as my dad was pastoring in La Vernia, TX. And while La Vernia is continuing to grow, it was a much smaller town when I was born. There was a short period of time that my dad pastored in …
On July 18th, I celebrated my 5-year anniversary as the Lead Pastor of First Baptist Church Stockdale. It wasn’t my intention to be on vacation during my 5-year anniversary; the schedule just seemed to work out that way. I am now back from my vacation, and I have had some time to reflect on my …
On Monday evening I left Stockdale and drove a few hours away to see my parents. My mom was scheduled to have knee replacement surgery on Tuesday. It is a fairly routine surgery, and she already had the other knee replaced, so the expectation was that things would go smoothly, I’d help my dad get …
On August 3, 2025, our church, First Baptist Church Stockdale, called a new worship minister, Corey Arseneault, to begin leading our worship ministry full-time. But, the story really begins back in 2018. In the fall of 2018, after serving as the children’s pastor and young adult pastor at First Baptist Watauga for 8 years, I …

In 1874 a group of believers assembled to form this Stockdale Baptist church in a picket building. The congregation would later build its very own building in 1885, and in …
On Sunday, October 30, 2022, I had the honor of participating in a deacon ordination service for Pandora Baptist Fellowship. For those of you that don’t know, Pandora Baptist is a church that First Baptist Church Stockdale planted several years ago, just outside of Stockdale. Therefore, some items have been passed on from First Baptist …
On Sunday, August 28, 2022 I was able to participate in one of the coolest baptisms that I’ve been part of. Since 2010 I have served in full-time ministry as a children’s pastor, youth pastor, young adult pastor, associate pastor, and now a lead pastor. I’ve had my share of baptisms over the last 12 …
Below are the books that I plan to read this year. Some I’ve had sitting on my shelf for a while. Others were recommended to me. I will likely end up reading more than what’s on this list, but I plan to read one of these books each month. Feel free to purchase the book …
